Our Story
In 2017, after a distinguished 20-year career in structured finance and the acquisition of his employer, Aranca, Dylan Gittleman made a pivotal decision to shift his focus. He chose to explore marketing liquidity event planning and investment banking services, specifically targeting startups nearing acquisition or preparing for an IPO.
Dylan's journey began in this new direction at US Trust, Bank of America, where he served as Senior Vice President. However, in 2019, Dylan made the bold move to leave BofA and establish Catskill Consulting. He recognized an opportunity to leverage his vast network of investors and deal-making experience, combining them with a team of subject matter experts. The goal was clear: to provide immense value to startups by helping them prepare for and position themselves for successful capital raises, both in the private market and through public market SPAC mergers.
Dylan's hypothesis was put to the test in 2020 when he secured Fisker Inc. as a client. In partnership with Cowen Securities, he played a key role in locating a $50 million investment and orchestrating a $1 billion SPAC merger. The success of this endeavor validated Catskill Consulting’s approach, proving the value of the combined expertise and network.
Today, Catskill Consulting is poised to offer its services to other innovative companies, helping them navigate and successfully execute capital raises, whether through private market rounds or public market SPAC mergers.
Why the Name Catskill Consulting?
Catskill Consulting draws its name from Dylan Gittleman’s roots as a New York transplant from the Catskills region. Growing up with the iconic Concord Resort Hotel as a second home, Dylan developed fond memories of mingling with successful businessmen, bankers, political leaders, Hollywood actors, and comedians. The entrepreneurial spirit he witnessed in figures like Ray Parker and his family, along with other hotel owners, deeply inspired him.
The Catskills, once a thriving vacation destination in the 1950s-70s, became a model for Dylan’s vision. Just as the Catskill hotel families transformed small boarding houses into a top-tier destination, Catskill Consulting aspires to become a premier partner for Silicon Valley startups, guiding them to success in their capital-raising endeavors.
